Problem with wxWidgets Compilation

Sagar vidya
Hi,

when I compile the wxWidgets compiled version, I get the following error.

ar: gcc_swu\monolib_gdicmn.o: No such file or directory
makefile.gcc:5213: recipe for target '..\..\lib\gcc_lib\libwxmsw30u.a' failed
mingw32-make: *** [..\..\lib\gcc_lib\libwxmsw30u.a] Error 1

kindly help me in solving the issue.

Exact compiler version?
Which command line did you use the build wxWidgets?

This should probably read  "gcc_[m]swu".

AFAIK the issue with the missing characters in the command line is not
totally understood and solved, but it's supposed to be related to the
8192 chars command line length limit under Windows.

Where is your wxWidgets installation located? If it's deep inside a
directory structure, try moving it to a shorter path.

Re: Problem with wxWidgets Compilation

Sagar vidya
Hi,

I have used the following command line to build wxWidgets.
mingw32-make SHELL=CMD.exe -j4 -f makefile.gcc BUILD=release UNICODE=1 SHARED=0 MONOLITHIC=1
 CXXFLAGS="-std=gnu++11".

wxWidgets installation is located at
C:\wxWidgets-3.0.2

Also try without the SHELL=CMD.exe.

Also make sure you have no other toolchains in your PATH variable,

You also need to build the debug version of the library, (same command
as before but BUILD=debug), to be able to produce debug builds of your
program.

New project? Which IDE?

Assuming it's Code:Blocks, it's important that the build options you
used to build wxWidgets match the settings in CodeBlocks.

Maybe this helps:

x64? Do you want to create a 64-bit application? Did you also compile
wxWidgets in 64-bit?

Do at least the samples work? If yes then you can use one of those
projects as template to see what your project needs.
