wxMac and universal binaries

Julian Smart
Hi,

With the increasing interest in Mactel machines, it would be
cool if wxWidgets 2.6.3 helped build universal binaries;
this could be a configure option, or it could be merely
documentation and a little sample script showing how
to build binaries for both targets and lipo them together.

I looked at the relevant threads on wx-users but I don't
think there's been a recent update or conclusion. I wonder if
anyone would have time to summarize what's required
(for the Mac section of the manual) or even supply
a script?

Thanks,

Julian

RE: wxMac and universal binaries

Stefan Csomor
Hi

CVS HEAD : the xcode projects for wx and minimal produce universal
binaries both using static and dynamic library builds.

search in the archives for some suggestions by David Elliott to make
universal binaries from the command line, IIRC he builds twice and then
uses lipo

Best,

Stefan

Very nice. I'm hoping for a configure/raw gcc based solution also...

Yes, I saw these excellent posts, but it would be good to have
a compact summary and if possible a script. Perhaps there have
been ideas since then about a configure option and/or script...

Thanks,

Julian
